No More Sour Grapes!

Ezekiel 18:1-3
“The fathers eat the sour grapes, but the children’s teeth are set on edge”.
This proverb had become very popular among the Jews of Ezekiel’s day.
But the Lord God, through the prophet, rebuked them for using this proverb and told them that it had to stop.
What was the meaning of the proverb and why was it so offensive to the Lord?
As we examine this passage we will be reminded of one of the foundational truths of the whole Bible, a key truth about God’s dealing with man.
We will see that this truth was being perverted and misinterpreted and as a result the character of God was being cast into question.
